Doha Insurance posts QR43 million net profit

DOHA: Doha Insurance Company disclosed the interim financial statements for the period ending September 30, 2012.
The interim financial statements revealed a net profit of QR 43 Million for the nine months period ended September 30, 2012 in comparison to a net profit of QR 47 Million for the corresponding period last year, the company said in a statement.
The company's Earnings per Share (EPS) amounted to QR 1.84 for the period ended September 30, 2012 versus QR 2.62 for the corresponding period in 2011.
Doha Insurance Company (Q.S.C.) is a Qatari shareholding company registered and incorporated in the State of Qatar under Emiri Decree No. 30 issued on 2nd October 1999.
The Company was formed in 2000 in response to the need for growth in the insurance industry, warranted by unprecedented accelerated economic expansion in Qatar as well as the enactment of laws encouraging investments. During 2006, the Company established an Islamic Takaful branch under the brand name Doha Takaful to carry out insurance. (QNA)
