Tokyo stocks close up 0.22%

TOKYO: Tokyo stocks closed up 0.22 percent on Friday after buying on optimism over the global economy offset profit taking.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange rose 19.82 points to 9,002.68 while the broader Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.28 percent, or 2.09 points, at 754.39. (AFP)
