The Israeli occupation forces continue their military operations, mainly targeting homes, hospitals, schools, sewage and water wells, and bulldozing infrastructure in different areas in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
In conjunction with the Israeli aggression on Gaza since 7 October 2023, the Israeli forces are continuing large-scale military operations in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, where dozens of unarmed Palestinians have been killed in each incursion.
Israeli escalation in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, has claimed the lives of more than 669 Palestinians, while the number of people killed in Gaza has reached more than 40,602, (mostly women and children), and injured more than 93,855 others since the start of the war against the Gaza Strip in October 2023.
All this is not enough for the Zionist extremists, and they are forcing the Palestinians to choose between displacement and extermination, as echoed by the ministers of the far-right government in Israel, who desecrate Islamic and Christian holy sites, without deterrence from either international law or the voices of human rights defenders.
All these have become useless means with a racist and extremist regime that finds full protection and patronage from Western countries that issue ambiguous and incomprehensible statements from time to time just to throw ashes in the eyes.
The incursion of extremist settlers into the courtyards of the blessed Al Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, under the protection of the occupation police, is considered by Zionist extremists as part of the ongoing military operation in Gaza and the West Bank.
While the Israeli forces tighten military measures at the gates of the Old City and Al Aqsa Mosque, deploying occupation police at its entrances to impose restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshippers.
In the face of the daily massacres, genocide and destruction of life in Gaza, many countries are only expressing their deep concern about what is happening and call on the Israelis to comply with their obligations under international humanitarian law and take the necessary measures to protect civilians and ensure their safety.
Zionist extremism is fuelling the explosive situation in the region, playing with the security and stability of its people, and violating the sovereignty of their states.
The countries that support this extremism under the cover of Israel’s right to self-defence should reconsider their positions. Israel is not defending but exterminating an entire population, depriving them of their most basic human rights and their right to live.
The international community has no choice but to end the occupation and return to a meaningful political process that establishes a two-state solution if it wants to put an end to this violence.
