The death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to 32,552 martyrs and 74,980 injured, vast majority of them are children and women. No single hour passes in Gaza without Palestinians being martyred as the Israeli occupation forces are committing design of massacres against families in the Gaza Strip every day. The unprecedented aggression against the Gaza Strip continues for the 174th day, destroying infrastructure and an unprecedented humanitarian tragedy as hundreds of thousands of residents of the Strip live in extremely difficult conditions due to lack of water and electricity and prevention of entry of humanitarian aid. The State of Qatar is committed to the People of Palestine and striving in all dimensions to end the bloodshed in the Gaza Strip at the time it has increased its constant aid to the people in Gaza facing hunger and shortage of food.
Qatar’s diplomatic efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and its efforts to save the lives of hundreds of thousands in Gaza were praised by the United Nations Security Council’s (UNSC) Strip. Qatar’s efforts in this regard reflect its firm position in contributing to promoting regional and international peace and stability. Within the framework of its commitment to provide assistance to Palestinian people during the difficult humanitarian crisis they are currently facing, Qatar has sent 88 planes to Gaza through the city of El Arish in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Education Above All (EAA) Foundation has also intensified its aid efforts during Ramadan in response to the massive humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The foundation committed to delivering aid to 233,000 beneficiaries. The foundation announced that it is carrying out with its partners 16 different initiatives to support Gaza residents and support over 25,000 beneficiaries.
EAA’s intervention in Gaza focuses on comprehensive humanitarian assistance, encompassing mental health and psychosocial support to address the trauma, recreational activities to foster community cohesion and health and hygiene kits tailored for women and girls. Additionally, scholarships for Palestinian youth and children to ensure continued education, while the provision of meals supports displaced families and children, alleviating immediate food insecurity.
The state of Qatar is keen to continue coordination with the UN and its relevant agencies at all levels to alleviate the suffering of civilians in Gaza, therefore increasing its funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). Similarly, Qatar has renewed its warning that suspending the UNRWA’s funding will negatively affect its work and its capabilities to respond to the urgent needs of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria.
