Whether you’re at the FIFA Fan Festival, Souq Waqif, Corniche, Katara, The Pearl, Fan Zone, or Aspire Park, to name a few popular locations, you can engage in a variety of family-friendly activities while watching a game, joining a group of fans cheering for their teams, feeling the beat of a music concert, trying on the local food, or simply enjoying the effervescent atmosphere.
Adding up to this glorious event is Qatar’s celebration of its National Day which started yesterday, where football fans and visitors can join and experience the wonderful culture and celebration of Qatar towards the lead up of its National Day on December 18 which is also the final of World Cup.
Minister of Culture H E Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday opened activities of Qatar National Day (QND) 2022 celebrations at Darb Al Saai.
Spreading over an area of 150,000 sqm, the venue of Darb Al Saai will host 4,500 cultural, heritage, arts, sport and entertainment activities for 24 days until December 18, from 3pm to 11pm.
The Darb Al Saai is expecting a large number of visitors especially fans of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Darb Al Saai environment embodies the slogan of Qatar National Day (QND) 2022 ‘Our Unity Source of Our Strength’.
The Minister of Culture, who is also Chairman of the Organising Committee for 2022 QND Celebrations, said: “The occasion of QND is very close to our hearts because it carries noble values expressing the meanings of loyalty, belonging, and allegiance to this generous country. Darb Al Saai is considered a cultural space, which brings together many activities derived from the ancient Qatari environment and culture, and is inspired by the authentic Arab values.”
The ‘Music Event’, is being presented for its first year, by the Music Affairs Center of the Ministry of Culture. The Center will present 42 daily events at Darb Al Saai over a period of 24 days.
To provide unique experience to visitors – citizens, expatriates and fans, a bus service has been started from Al Rayyan Bus Depot to Darb Al Saai. The Organsing Committee has dedicated six buses to transport World Cup fans free of charge throughout the activities of Darb Al Saai.
