The country is ready for the new academic year 2024-25 as government and private schools, higher educational institutions have made all necessary arrangements to welcome back students in a healthy environment.
Over 131,000 male and female students will head to their class seats in 215 public schools and 64 kindergartens, among them are 70 integration schools, as well as 7 Al-Hidaya Special Needs Schools. There are also 349 private schools and kindergartens with 237,931 students are operating across the country.
Administrative and teaching staff have proactively embarked upon essential preparations before the students head back to universities, such as welcoming students, distributing school timetables, books, stationery, and student lists to the classes, in addition to implementing school policies, and regulations from the first school day.
Director of the Department of Schools and Student Affairs of the MoEHE, Mariam Al Nisf Al Buainain, has said the ministry is ready to welcome the students after it has finalized all preparations to commence the new academic year next Sunday.
She affirmed that the ministry is steadfastly committed to offering a high quality educational atmosphere through advancing all fundamental components of education, including the pedagogical cadres, infrastructure and educational sources in coordination with relevant bodies to ensure the accomplishment of all preparations.
Mowasalat (Karwa), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, has launched the ‘Back to School’ campaign for the new academic year 2024-2025 under the slogan “My School is My Second Home.”
The campaign will continue until August 31 with the goal of mentally preparing students for the new school year in an environment full of educational and entertainment activities.
Mowasalat (Karwa) has deployed about 3,000 eco-friendly school buses equipped with latest safety and security technology to ferry the students for the new academic year 2024-25. “We have acquired a fleet of diesel buses with Euro 5 standard and ten electric buses for school to cut carbon emissions,” said Strategy Management Office Director at Mowasalat (Karwa) Mohammed Ahmed M K Abukhadija.
On the eve of new academic year, Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail), in collaboration with a group of leading school supplies providers in Qatar, also launched the ‘Back to School’ event at Sport City Station in Doha Metro, from August 25 to September 3, 2024.
