As Palestinians mark the 76th anniversary of the Nakba on May 15, the Israeli occupation forces are intensifying attacks in the Gaza Strip, while settlers continue to assault the West Bank and Occupied Jerusalem. Yet, these actions will never break the resolve of the Palestinian people. They remain unwavering, refusing to kneel, surrender, or abandon their homeland.

Throughout the decades, Palestinians have persevered in the face of the threats from the Israeli occupiers, guided by their awareness and commitment to their land. Despite continuous attempts at displacement since the Nakba, including the occupation entity’s recent efforts to displace Gazans after 8 months of systematic destruction and ongoing genocide, the Palestinian people stand firm. More than 100,000 Palestinians, mostly children, women, and elders, have been killed or injured during since October 7, which Israel began its brutal aggression.

Since 1948 the Palestinian people are engaged in resistance in all fields and forms and struggling to end occupation to their homeland and get rid of the apartheid system established by Israel, thanks to their awareness and their commitment to hold onto their homeland until they defeat all attempts at to replace them with settlers imparted from different parts of the world.

This year’s commemoration of the Nakba coincides with a surge in international support for the Palestinian cause. Demonstrations and protests worldwide affirm the validity of Palestinian rights and expose the brutality of the occupation.

Seventy-six years ago, the Nakba tragedy forced around one million Palestinians to flee their cities and towns, becoming internally displaced. Today, they celebrate their resilience and determination to reclaim their rights and homeland.

As the occupation’s aggression against Gaza continues for the 222nd consecutive day, the death toll rises, with the majority being children. Thousands more are injured, and many remain trapped under rubble. This relentless Israeli assault has caused a humanitarian catastrophe affecting 2.5 million Palestinians.

Arab efforts are underway to halt this aggression and support Palestinians in Gaza, as well as to address escalations in the West Bank and Jerusalem. There is a call for international pressure to reach a comprehensive solution and begin a political process towards an independent Palestinian state.

Arab countries must utilize all available mechanisms and sources of power to achieve a just resolution to the Palestinian issue. This includes investigating the crimes committed by the occupation in Gaza. True peace for all parties can only be achieved through a two-state solution, with a Palestinian state established on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
