Support for Israel must end

Israeli air strikes and shooting down of unarmed Palestinians have increased in Gaza recently which make it clear the intentions of Zionist state – that is aimed at ethnic cleansing. Genocide after genocides of children, women and unarmed civilians on the pretext of targeting Hamas fighters continue since the Israeli war on Gaza began on October 7 last year. However, its biggest supporter and the world’s super power seems oblivious of the war crimes being committed each and every day in Gaza. The US has been supplying Israel weapons which end up being used against unarmed civilians.

Enough is enough. The world must come together to stop supply of weapons to Israel. The ongoing genocide in Gaza not only exposes the international community’s failure but also suggests complicity with the perpetrators, especially in light of international silence and the lack of accountability, which can only be interpreted as a licence for Israel to continue its horrific crimes against unarmed civilians.

Israeli aggression on Gaza has escalated to unprecedented levels of brutality, turning the coastal enclave into rubble of ruins and a vast cemetery after being the world’s largest open-air prison for over 15 years. The shelters where the “survivors” of the Israeli war machine seek refuge have become zones of extermination.

An Israeli air strike on a school housing displaced Palestinians killed 93 people on Saturday in Gaza, sparking international condemnation despite Israel’s insistence that it was targeting Hamas operatives. Civil defence rescuers said three Israeli missiles hit the complex in Gaza City while people were performing dawn prayers.

The bombardment of Al Tabieen religious school and mosque drew criticism from across the Middle East and beyond alongside calls for a ceasefire after international mediators invited the warring sides to resume talks towards a long-sought truce and hostage-release deal.

Jordan’s foreign ministry said the timing was an indication of Israel’s efforts to “obstruct and thwart” the latest mediation efforts.

Qatar condemned the massacre in strongest terms. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar’s call for conducting an urgent international investigation by dispatching independent UN investigators to probe the ongoing targeting by Israeli occupation forces of schools and shelters for displaced people. It called on the global community to provide full protection for the displaced people and prevent the occupation forces from carrying out its schemes aimed at forcibly displacing them from the Gaza Strip, besides compelling Israel to abide by the international laws.
