Citizens and residents across Qatar are eagerly preparing for the upcoming Qatar National Day (QND) celebrations with an exciting array of events set to take place nationwide. The festivities begin this week and will reach their peak on December 18, as the nation commemorates its heritage and achievements with fervour and pride.
The Ministry of Culture has unveiled a vibrant program for Darb Al Saai, which opens today at its permanent venue in Umm Salal, running until December 18. This year’s Darb Al Saai features a dynamic showcase of Qatari culture and traditions, including 15 main themes and 104 activities designed to immerse visitors in an authentic cultural experience. Spread across interactive corners and open spaces, the venue brings together citizens and residents in a lively atmosphere.
A key highlight of Darb Al Saai is the main stage, which will host daily cultural, artistic, heritage and educational activities. In addition, a variety of competitions, organised in collaboration with ministries and entities, will enhance the visitor experience. The winners of these competitions will receive attractive prizes, adding a layer of excitement to the celebrations.
Darb Al Saai will welcome the public daily from 3pm to 11pm across its 150,000 square meters, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to ensure comfort and safety. The venue also includes 80 shops, 30 restaurants and cafes and five traditional folklore games, making it a hub of cultural and entertainment activities for all age groups. Adding to the festivities, Al Shaqab will participate with a lineup of equestrian activities, emphasising the significance of purebred Arabian horses in Qatar’s heritage. Meanwhile, the Qatar National Library (QNL) will host vibrant cultural and family-friendly programmes. These include art performances, educational workshops and interactive activities designed to celebrate Qatar’s rich traditions and achievements.
