Israel has been committing massacre after massacres, killed thousands of civilians, displaced over 80 percent of Gaza’s population, and destroyed cities and critical infrastructure since it war on Gaza began in October last year.
In the latest episode of Israeli genocide, Israeli forces attacked the Al Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza on Thursday, killing at least 274 innocent people and injuring over 698 Palestinians while rescuing four Israeli hostages.
The Jewish state has used massacres as a weapon to terrorise and displace Palestinians from their lands both before and after the Nakba of 1948 aiming to break their resistance. However, Palestinians continue their struggle to get their legitimate rights.
The new Israeli atrocities adds to a long history of crimes committed by Israel without accountability. The collective punishment policy, destroying cities and critical infrastructure and attempts of forced displacement of Palestinians are grave violations of international law.
Meanwhile, Qatar continues efforts for a ceasefire in Gaza and has been engaged with both Israel and Hamas. Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Majid bin Muhammad Al Ansari called on the international community to pressure Israel and Hamas to accept the proposal announced by US President Joe Biden to end the war in the Gaza Strip. He said that Qatar is using its leverage to make sure both sides understand the gravity of the situation and the need to reach an agreement.
Qatar is optimistic about the fact that a momentum is building up. However, there has not been any concrete approval to the proposal by the two sides. “There have been contradictory statements from Israeli ministers. The statements from Hamas were quite positive, although falling short of commitment,” Al Ansari said.
Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs H E Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi in a statement said, who is also the Governor of Qatar to the IAEA, it behooves the international community to stand united to confront those who employ nuclear sciences and technologies for annihilation of people. Dr. Al Hammadi noted the threat unleashed by the Israeli Minister of Heritage in November last to drop a nuclear bomb on the Gaza Strip.
He called on Israel to pursue the example of South Africa and renounce the apartheid policies and abolish nuclear weapons, withdraw from the Arab territories that have been occupied since 1967, and accept the establishment of an independent Palestinian statehood with full sovereignty with East Jerusalem as its capital for peace in the region.
