Health is one of the key aspects of human development and progress in healthcare is an integral part of Qatar National Vision 2030. Qatar is committed to providing the best healthcare facilities available in the world to its people, both citizens and expatriates.
And Qatar has always given primary healthcare its due importance. In a huge boost to healthcare sector, the Primary Health Care Corporation recently said that it will soon introduce new cardiology clinics at its health centres. These clinics will be added to PHCC’s range of unique specialised services to provide the best diversified package of services in the region to all Qatar community members.
The ‘Cardiology Clinic’ will be within the PHCC’s ‘Regional Specialised Centres’ which consolidate several specialist services into eight selected health centres. PHCC has launched a pilot for a new specialised ‘Cardiology Clinic’ in both of Leabaib and Rawdat Al Khail health centers.
Dr Samya Ahmad Al Abdallah, the Executive Director of Operations at PHCC, said: “This new service is a result of the continuous joint cooperation between PHCC and Hamad Medical Corporation’s Heart Hospital. The service is part of part of the greater ‘Better Together’ program between PHCC and HMC.”
The Primary Health Care Corporation in the country is the excellent example of the global standard of healthcare system. The commitment of the PHCC is to provide a wide range of medical services with highest standards through its 27 health centers.
The new service is a result of the continuous joint cooperation between PHCC and the Heart Hospital, which is part of the greater “Better Together” program between PHCC and Hamad Medical Corporation that Heart Hospital belongs to. The Cardiology Clinic will provide a preventive service to patients and community members by providing comprehensive awareness to all patients about cardiovascular diseases, how to avoid all related risk factors and how to deal with symptoms if they occur.
Qatar is developing a strong health system to ensure universal health coverage for the population in accordance with the best international standards. The nation has undertaken large expansion plans for healthcare facilities, which included the opening of various primary healthcare centers in different parts of the country. The expansion is meant to ensure that all residents receive high-quality care closer to their place of residence.
The commitment to providing the best healthcare to every patient, regardless of their nationality, has put Qatar in the top list on the WHO–World Bank index for universal health coverage. Qatar was also ranked 5th in the world for health by the Legatum Institute, a London-based think tank.
PHCC is constantly developing all services to build an integrated, comprehensive, and modern system for primary health care under guidance of Qatar’s wise leadership. It is constantly working with diligence through all health centers to serve all patients and deliver a diversified package of health services for them in accordance with Qatar National Health Strategy, and Qatar 2030 Vision.
