DOHA: The Department of Commercial Registration and Licenses at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MoEC) held a workshop for its employees to be able to provide ‘single-window’ services at the Ministry.

In a press statement issued in Arabic yesterday, the Ministry said that it recently held the 8th workshop, which is the continuation of the series of similar exercises organised in the past.

Aiming at attracting fresh investments to achieve economic diversification the Ministry will provide all kinds of services in a much speedier and hassle-free manner with great efficiency.

The workshops was held to impart comprehensive knowledge and training to some employees of the Ministry for their all round development so that they can offer all kinds of services without facing any problems.

The single-window services at the Ministry are expected to significantly improve the work efficiency and also reduce the time taken in the process of issuing registration certificates and commercial licenses.

The move is expected to facilitate the process obtaining commercial licenses required for establishing new businesses in a more transparent manner which may attract further investments both from local and foreign investors.

The workshop focused on a number of issues and subjects, including providing information related to the legal procedures that aspiring entrepreneurs are required to fulfill under the commercial licensing policy.

Abdullah Al Khowaitir, Director of the Department of Commercial Registration and Licenses at the Ministry awarded certificates to the successful participants.
