Al Sada takes part in Moscow energy forum

Moscow: The Minister of Energy and Industry H E Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, held several meetings with a number of high officials from the energy industry on the sidelines of the 14th Ministerial Meeting of the International Energy Forum (IEF), which opened on Thursday in Moscow.

Dr Al Sada met with Ali Al Omair, Minister of Oil of Kuwait, during which the two ministers discussed bilateral relations in the energy field in addition to a number of issues of mutual concern. 

The Minister also met with Uzakbay Karabalin, Minister of Oil and Gas of Kazakhstan, and their talks covered mutual cooperation in the energy sector. 

Dr Al Sada also had a meeting with Victor Zubkov, Chairman of Gazprom and Special Representative of the President of Russia for Cooperation with the Gas Exporting Countries Forum.

Dr Al Sada also attended the IEF opening ceremony which started with sessions under the theme “The New Geography of Energy: Business as Usual or a New Era for Energy Supply and Demand.”

The second session focused on the outlook, risks and potential of unconventional oil and gas. The sessions also included a parallel roundtable on sustainable energy for all, and other parallel roundtable on building resilient energy systems based on lessons from national and regional approaches.

Dr Al Sada and the accompanying delegation returned to Doha yesterday evening.
