DOHA: EMC Corp sees a huge future for its products and services in the Gulf region and the company is fully equipped to tap the new opportunities being thrown up, said Mohammed Amin (pictured), Senior Vice-President for Turkey, Eastern Europe Africa and Middle East.
On Qatar, Amin said the potential for growth is greater with the country preparing to host the 2022 World Cup. “In the last three years, we grew 300 percent in the country and hope to build on this growth as multi-billion dollar projects, in infrastructure and other areas, are being launched,” he said.
“The new strategies and vision unveiled at this conference give us the energy to move forward,” he added.
The best thing about the Gulf region is that it’s going from step one to step four in acquiring technology, thus skipping a few steps in between and in the process even coming ahead of others. ‘Forget what we have, tell us what we should have’, this is what governments and companies in the region are telling us and it shows their determination to stay ahead of the rest of the world,” Amin said, addressing media men from the region on the sidelines of the conference.
