Yousef Ali Al Obaidan is new acting CEO of TFI

DOHA: The First Investor (TFI), Barwa Bank Group’s 100 percent owned investment banking subsidiary, yesterday announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Yousef Ali Al Obaidan (pictured) as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of TFI.
“The selection of Yousef for this role is once again a demonstration of our support to the development of Qatari talent and Qatarisation across all levels throughout the Barwa Bank group” said Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Jassim Al-Thani, Chairman and Managing Director.
Since joining TFI in 2007, Yousef has spearheaded the company’s Investment Banking activities.
Yousef brings with him a considerable experience and exceptional local market knowledge gained at Qatari business circles.
He has been leading investment banking initiatives targeting investment opportunities through originating and successfully overseeing the establishment of several projects and companies in Qatar. Such initiations included the establishment of SMEET, a premier ready-mix and building materials company in Qatar, the private placement and foundation processes of First Leasing Company (Qatar), and Emdad Holding Company (Qatar). Since the establishment of the Emdad, Yousef has been actively involved in promoting the business as Chairman of the Board.
Yousef graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and a Master of Arts in Integrated Marketing & Communications from the California State University. Yousef worked at Qatar Petrochemical Company as Head of Customer Finance and was responsible for overseeing customer credit facility management, related credit limit approvals and risk monitoring.
