Muntajat, Milaha sign transport contract

DOHA: Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Company (Muntajat) QJSC signed a two-year agreement with Qatar Navigation QSC (Milaha) to transport petrochemicals exports from Qatar.
The agreement covers the containerised exports of polymers and melamine for Muntajat from Mesaieed to key hub ports in the region, from where major international shipping lines will carry these exports to their final destinations worldwide. 
The contracts were signed by 
H E Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman and Managing Director of Milaha and Abdulrahman Ali Al Abdulla, CEO of Muntajat.
As part of the agreement, Milaha is also responsible for re-positioning empty containers back to Mesaieed. Total annual volume of exports alone is expected to reach approximately 150,000 TEU (Twenty Foot Equivalent Unit).
“We have, over the years, built a close relationship with QAPCO, Q-Chem, Qatofin, and more recently with Muntajat, and we are very pleased to be able to extend and expand this relationship.” said Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al Thani. “Our fleet of eight fully-cellularised container vessels is ideal to cater for our partners’ requirements. We aim to continue to serve them in the best possible manner and bring added value to this critical sector for Qatar.”
