Qafac receives ISO27001 certification

Doha:  Qatar Fuel Additives Company Limited (Qafac) has announced yesterday that it has received ISO27001 certification, an acknowledgement for its standard for information security management systems, from the British Standards Institution Group Middle East WLL (BSI).
The ISO/IEC 27001:2005 signifies an unmatched efficiency in assessing security risk and security design, implementation and management. The ISO standard ensures the adaptation of effective security controls that protect the information of customers and stakeholders. 
Sarah Taylor, British Standards Institution (BSI) Representative has congratulated Qafac on receiving the ISO 27001 standard in record time, as Qafac was able to receive the prestigious standard in less than six months, commending the company’s top management’s commitment and cooperation in the process.
To achieve this great fea, Qafac has gone through a rigorously structured process of awareness training among its employees that started from April of last year and lasted till September. 
Nasser Jeham Al Kuwari, General Manager of Qafac, has emphasised on the importance of attaining the ISO standard in implementing effectiveness, efficiency, confidentiality and integrity in its day to day operations. Stressing on the fact that Qafac is the first company to be awarded the ISO standard that covers the company as a whole, and not only the IT department. 
Qafac is working on attaining a business continuity certificate by the end of the year.
