Doha: British Ambassador Nicholas Hopton opened the Doha office of Blue Rubicon, PR Week’s UK Consultancy of the Year. The office is the strategic communications consultancy’s first outside Britain.
Blue Rubicon has been working since 2007 in Qatar on high profile strategic communications projects for Qatari organisations, and working for global businesses in Qatar, including a number of the country’s largest foreign investors.
Hopton, said: “Qatar is a remarkable country making a huge economic impact in the region and globally. As one of Britain’s leading strategic communications and PR consultancies, Blue Rubicon’s decision to open in Qatar is a further sign of the commercial opportunities here for UK businesses.”
Managing Director of Blue Rubicon Qatar, Neil Daugherty, and Director, Kieran Toohey, have been joined in Doha by a team with Arabic and English language skills. The new office is based in Al Fardan Office Tower in Doha’s West Bay area.
Daugherty said: “I am honoured to be leading Blue Rubicon’s office in Qatar — our first outside Britain. We want to continue to help Qatar communicate its vision to the world, as well as protecting and growing the reputations of global companies looking to do business in Qatar.”
Toohey said: “Qatar is a young and dynamic country, with a compelling vision for the future. At Blue Rubicon we are focused on merging the best thinking on reputation management and global communications from London, with a deep understanding of Qatar’s history and culture.”
