Sanctions trouble

A McDonnell-Douglas MD-11 jet of Lufthansa Cargo AG taxis along the tarmac of Yemelyanovo airport, on its way to Frankfurt from Shanghai, outside Russia’s Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk. Lufthansa uses the Krasnoyarsk airport as the transit airport for fuelling and maintenance on its long-distance flights. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said last week that Moscow had decided to ban transit flights for Ukrainian airlines and that it was considering banning European and US airlines as well.
