Serbia to slash deficit by 3.3pc

BELGRADE: Serbia’s parliament adopted yesterday a budget for next year aimed at slashing its deficit to 3.3 percent of output and boosting growth to 2.0 percent. The budget, adopted with 138 votes for and 69 against of the deputies present in the 250-seat parliament, sets the deficit at 121.9bn dinars ($1.4bn). “Our politics will be directed at stability ... and slowing unemployment trends,” Finance Minister Mladjan Dinkic said.
