BAZM-E-ALIG, the alumni association of Aligarh Muslim University in Doha, hosted a friendly Cricket match between its own team and Ooredoo XI at the MIC Sport Complex (QP) in Mesaieed recently.
The 15-over friendly, but keenly contested match was won by Bazm-e-Alig team who scored 74 runs. Ooredoo skipper Shaan led the team magnificently with his calculative strategies and made full use of its bowlers.
Chasing a low target of 75 runs for victory, Ooredoo players looked comfortable at the beginning, however couldn’t resist much to the deadly bowling attack of Bazm-e-Alig.
All the seamers of Bazm including Pervez Khan, Faraz,Ozair, Sajid and Abrar made it terribly difficult for the opposite team to score runs. S
kipper (Parvez Khan) and his boys were also “fielding” with all energy to stop each possible single run in the field. Oredoo team fell short by 9 runs in this terrific contest.
The Man of the Match award was grabbed by Sajid Khan of Bazm –e- Alig for his wonderful all-round performance
President of Bazm-e-Alig, Mr. Afroz Alam, handed over the running trophy to the winner.
