Doha: The Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA) organised a business dinner in honour of the visit of the Global Advisory Council of the Wilson Center headed by Mark Green, CEO, at the Majlis of Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Thani Al Thani, QBA Second Deputy, on the sideline of the Doha Forum, to discuss ways to support trade exchange and boost commercial activities between the two countries.
From QBA, the dinner was attended by Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Thani Al Thani, QBA Second deputy. From QBA board, Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser Al Thani and Saud Al Mana, from QBA members Khalid Al Mannai, Sheikh Turki bin Khalid bin Thani Al Thani, Dr. Abdulbasit Ahmed Al Shaibei, in addition to Sarah Abdallah, QBA Deputy GM.
From Wilson Center, a group of former ambassadors and economists attended the dinner, including James Jeffrey, Alexander Farley, Jorge Woldenberg, and Marissa Khurma.
For his part, Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Thani Al Thani welcomed Mark Green and his accompanying delegation, stressing that the Qatari-US relations are witnessing continuous development in all sectors, highlighting the interest of Qatari businessmen in the American market, where there are already many Qatari investments, whether in the public or private sectors, as the US is one of the favorable investment destinations for the Qatari businessman, indicating the depth of the historical relations between Qatar and America.
For his part, Mark Green pointed out the need to develop economic, commercial and investment relations, and to provide platforms for the private sector to build companies that contribute to maximizing its role in the economic process, stressing that the Qatari-US economic relations are very strong; as the Gulf region has become a business center with major projects, and investments, he also praised the strength of the Qatari economy, which has proven, through various difficulties, its ability to withstand and overcome challenges.
During the discussion, Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser Al Thani, QBA Board member stressed the need to follow up regularly on developing the economic relations between both countries, emphasizing that the Qatari private sector is always looking forward to exploring new opportunities.
