Qatari duo too good for Germans at Vienna Worlds

Vienna:  Qatar Beach Volleyball Team of Cherif Younousse and Jefferson Pereira defeated Germany’s Bockermann and Fluggen 2-0 in their first appearance at the World Beach Volleyball Championship which began on Friday in Vienna.
Pereira and Younousse were too good for the Germans duo who emerged champions of the Olsztyn International Beach Tour, which was recently held in Poland.
The Qatari duo overcame the German team by 21-19 in the first set and 21-15 in the second set.
The draw put Qatar in Group B with Latvia, Germany, and Venezuela.
The Qatari team qualified for the World Championships for the second time in the history after being crowned the champions of the Asian Beach Volleyball Championship (Qatar Masters), which was held in Doha in May.
They beat  Australia 2-1 in the final which took place at the Aspire Zone who also hosted all the tournament which was organised by the Qatar Football Federation with the participation of 24 teams representing 13 countries.
