Doha: In a continued effort to promote authentic Islamic awareness among expatriate communities, the Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center has been hosting a series of educational lectures for members of the Nigerian Muslim community.

The most recent session, attended by 115 participants, focused on the virtues of the Islamic month of Muharram.

The initiative, which began at the start of Dhul-Hijjah, has witnessed active engagement and enthusiastic participation from the Nigerian community.

The lectures cover a wide range of topics, including key aspects of Islamic culture, values, and everyday moral conduct expected of Muslims.

The center has announced its intention to continue these tailored lectures in the coming weeks, with the aim of deepening religious understanding and strengthening the community’s connection to Islamic teachings.

The inclusion of the Nigerian Muslim community in the center’s programmes reflects its commitment to broadening its outreach and catering to the diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds of Qatar’s Muslim population.

Currently, the center offers dedicated programmes for communities speaking Urdu, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali, Nepali, Malay, Amharic, Oromo, and Filipino, in addition to the newly included Nigerian community.

Through such inclusive initiatives, the Islamic Cultural Center reinforces its role as a beacon of learning and cultural exchange for Muslims from all walks of life in Qatar.
