Doha: Cyrine Cherif cruised to a comprehensive Big Tour victory at the ninth round of the Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour at the Qatar Equestrian Federation’s outdoor arena yesterday.
Cherif, partnering her 11-year-old stallion Brennus Villelongue, finished her round in 68.80 seconds, well ahead of second-placed Nasser Al Ghazali (Quel Homme, 74.93 secs) and Mubarak Yousuf Al Rumaihi (Casal Des Forets, 77.11 secs)
The Open Class was won by Hamad Nasser Al Qadi astride Gibria-B in 157.53 seconds. Saeed Nasser Al Qadi finished second with Apple Bee in 165.61 secs, while Mohamed Khalifa Albaker partnered jumbo to third place finish in 177.96 secs.
In the Future Riders 90cm class, Hadi Nasser Al Shahwani reigned supreme with Wadi Rum DDH, followed by Noor Ayman Abuafifa (Janny) and Maryam Nassir Al Mutlaq (Inzaghi Van Molenheide)
Jassim Adel Al Saegh won the Future Riders 80cm class with Joly’s Arno Barzan Azzam Saleh (Latino 291) was second and Mohamed Abdulla Al Marri (Sita) finished third.
