DOHA: Qatar Charity (QC) has launched a “Feed the Pilgrims” campaign to help thousands of Haj pilgrims in many countries. It has allocated QR500,000 for the project to provide 33,000 meals to pilgrims, each meal costing QR15.
Faisal Rashid Al Faheeda, Executive Director, Executive Management of Operations, QC, said through the project, QC provides an opportunity to all benevolent people to serve the pilgrims.
He said meals that meet health and nutrition standards can be guaranteed to be handed out to the visitors of Allah during the Haj season.
He said a person can donate to feed as many pilgrims as he wishes.
He called on the people of Qatar to participate in the privilege of helping the pilgrims.
The project will help pilgrims obtain food and be free for worship and revive the tradition of feeding people, especially during this sacred season and in sacred place where good deeds are multiplied in reward.
Donations can be made through the QC website (qcharity.org) or its collection points and branches in Qatar, or through hotline 44667711.
QC has also launched the Udhiya campaign for this year, which seeks to provide 26,040 sacrificial animals, including cows and sheep, to people in 37 countries in Asia, Africa and Europe.
It distributed 17,825 meals last year to pilgrims at a cost of QR445,622 as part of ‘Feed the Pilgrims’ and ‘Substitutionary Haj’ projects.
