Qatar Beach Volleyball duo score second win at Olympics

Doha: Qatar Beach Volleyball duo won their match against Italy in their second match at the Tokyo Olympics.

Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan beat Italy’s Adrian Carambula and Enrico Rossi in two straight games 24-22, 21-13 at the Shiokaze Park.

Cherif and Tijan began their Tokyo Olympics campaign on high note on Sunday with a 21-17, 21-16 victory over Adrian Heidrich and Mirco Gerson of Switzerland.

Qatari duo is ranked World No. 1 by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) for the first time on Monday.

The favourites will face Jacob Gibb and Tri Bourne of USA in their third Pool C Men's Preliminary match on Friday.
