Toulouse: Continuing his outstanding line of form and making it five wins in a row, the Purebred Arabian Moshrif (Dahess x Tashreefat) carried the colours of his owner Khalifa bin Sheail Al Kuwari to success when landing the Gr.1 (PA) French Arabian Breeders Challenge in  Toulouse, France.

Under the care of master handler François Rohautand given an excellent ride by Olivier Peslier, the outstanding four-year-old performer has now claimed two wins at the highest level and added to his Gr.1 success in last year’s Qatar Arabian Trophy des Poulains at Saint-Cloud to take the 2,200m showpiece.

Moshrif was held up towards the rear of the seven-runner field throughout the majority of the contest before plunging late in the straight to win by a half a length from his stablemate the Abdullah Fahad Al Attiyah-owned Ch’ezza (AF Albahar), who was ridden by Valentin Seguy. The third place went to the Al Wasmiyah Racing-owned and X. Thomas-Demeaulte-trained Monda (No Risk Al Maury), who ran an excellent race as he was only a neck further under Declan-Patrick McDonogh.

Speaking after the race the winning trainer François Rohaut said: “He takes a little while to get going, but that’s just Moshrif. Once he is rolling there really is no stopping him. He is a class above the others, and he shows that at the finish. He is without doubt one of the best I have trained.”
