Industrial security course begins for GCC interior ministry officers

Doha: The fifth industrial security course for GCC officials started at Officers Club at Civil Defence on Sunday.
It is organised by General Directorate of Civil Defence in collaboration with General Directorate of Industrial Security. 
The course is part of implementation of recommendations of the GCC interior ministers and officers from the concerned departments at the GCC ministries of interior take part.
Staff Brig. Abdullah Muhammad Al Suwaidi, General Director, General Directorate of Civil Defence, Brig. Muhammad Abdul Khader Al Khori, Director General, Industrial Security, Brig. Aman Saad Al Sulaiti, Assistant. Director General, Civil Defence, and Brig. Hamad Al Duhaimi, Director, Operations Department,  attended the opening ceremony. 
Staff Brig. Al Suwaidi stressed the importance of exchanging knowledge and experiences in industrial security which is vital for GCC oil facilities. 
The two-week course includes visits to RasLaffan Industrial City and RasLaffan Emergency & Safety College and lectures by officers and experts. 
Brig. Al Sulaiti will speak on occupational safety and Col. Hamad Ali Al Ansari on the sense of security and body language. 
Capt. Hamad Mubarak Al Hajiri will speak about security patrols and Ft. Lt. Abdul Rahman Al Kaabi about security measures in facilities. 
Other speakers include Ghanim Hassan Al Kubaisi, Zia-uddinHaider, Jubair Abdul Shafi, Taj Al Sir Omar from General Directorate of Industrial Security about topics, including the general concept of security and industrial safety in Qatar, functions and duties of industrial security, safety standards in oil production facilities, industrial security and its role in the overall national security, issues related to piracy and its effects on the oil and gas industry and occupational safety and health.
