Capturing emotions: Katara inaugurates ‘My Lens in love of Qatar’ Exhibition

In cooperation with the Youth Hobbies Center, the Cultural Village Foundation Katara inaugurated an exhibition, titled; “My Lens in love of Qatar” in the presence of the HR manager of the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara,  Saif Al-Dosari, and photography enthusiasts on September 25.

On display, a collection of snaps that portrayed the photographers’ solidarity and unity voice with the State of Qatar. 

Photographers were asked to capture national moments while expressing their feelings towards the country through various shots.

The  Youth Hobbies Center of the Ministry of Culture and Sports honoured the winners on Monday of the photography competition and opened an exhibition of the most important works participating in the competition at Katara, which continues until the end of October.

Hind Mohammed Abdullah won the first place in the competition and received a prize of QR10,000. Manar Abdullah Ahmed came in the second place and received a prize of QR7,000. Saeed Mohammed Fayrouz came in the third spot and earned QR5,000. While other participants received QR1,000 each.

The Youth Hobbies Center management chose the best 40 pictures which participated in the competition to be shown at the Katara exhibition to highlight the situation during the period of the siege on the State of Qatar and reflect the people’s love for their country and their wise leadership. 

The Deputy Director of the Youth Hobbies Center Dr Essa Al Hor said in a press statement, that this competition coincided with the siege period to document the current situation and the repercussions of the siege on the Qatari society, which showed that all people stand united behind the Emir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. 

Dr. Essa pointed out the photos presented to the competition were characterised by embodied reality in Qatar and portrayed the pride of the Qataris and residents of the wise leadership as well as murals and flags on buildings and cars, which spread everywhere in the country, and even national production in farms and factories and other efforts to support the economy in Qatar in the face of the siege. 

He noted that the opening of this exhibition contributes to the dissemination of awareness and patriotism in a creative way and helps in discovering new talents.

The winner of the competition Hind Mohammed Abdullah expressed her happiness to win the first place. 

Hind said that the work she presented at the competition is a small part of her expression of love for her country Qatar, and her main goal was to convey a message to the world that we are all in Qatar behind HH the Emir.

She pointed out that the first place photo was a message to preserve the soil of this country, which every Qatari mother instilled in her children.
