DOHA: Over 340 high school students from 24 Independent schools attended the ‘School Career Day’ organised by Qatar Career Fair (QCF), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development (QF).
Designed to promote a culture of career awareness and ambition amongst Qatar’s youth, the event, which was held at Hamad bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) Student Center, was also attended by academic advisers and career guidance counsellors.
QCF organised two consecutive ‘School Career Days’, with the first day dedicated to male students while females were welcomed on the second day. The programme introduced both sets of students to future career opportunities in-line with their abilities and interests.
The first segment of the event featured information sessions presented by leading Qatari organisations across various sectors such as education, health, sports, finance, energy, industry, aviation, and career development.
Participating organizations included the Qatar Community College, HBKU, Sidra Medical and Research Center, Aspire Zone Foundation, Qatar National Bank, RasGas, Qatar Airways, and Bedaya. In addition to learning about these organizations, the students were informed of the scholarship and development opportunities available within these companies.
“By allowing students to meet and discuss with different organization from across Qatar, the ‘School Career Day’ plays an important role in informing young people about the potential career options available to them and their necessary specializations. This will help the generation of tomorrow plan their future at an early stage and succeed in their chosen profession,” said QCF Director Abdulla Al Mansoori.
“I would like to thank all the various organisations and companies fortheir participation in the event, and for taking the time to share information and support the career development of Qatar’s youth,” he added.
