Doha: The General Directorate of Civil Defense said that the establishments that refrain from the implementation of Civil Defence measures, may be closed. The closure shall administratively take place for a period not exceeding three months.
“Establishments that refrain from the implementation of Civil Defence measures, within the period specified by the Civil Defence Department, may be closed by means of a resolution of the Minister of Interior or his representative. The closure shall administratively take place for a period not exceeding three months, which may be extended to other similar periods in the event of non-implementation of the required measures.” said the Department.
This information was shared today by officials from the department during a webinar titled "Fire Prevention during the Winter".
Capt. Ayyub Saleh Nasser Al Shatf, Awareness Officer at the General Directorate of Civil Defense stated that “Arrival to fire accidents does not exceed 7 minutes depending on location but usually the maximum time is 7minutes.”
He also advised people that when civil defense vehicles move in response to any call, road users must give way for civil defense vehicles even if that make them commit traffic violations at intersection because such violations will not be counted.
Giving more tips, he urged people not to gather around the fire sites when the civil defense vehicles arrive in order to facilitate the task of the civil defense personnel and not to obstruct them from their duties.”
For the safety of children during the winter season, Capt Al Shatf said it is important to remind the children not to play away from the camping site and educate them to keep the camping area always neat and clean.
