Al Khor down El Jaish in thriller as Al Rayyan crush Qatar SC

 

 

DOHA:  Al Khor beat El Jaish 96-95 in a hair rising thriller which saw both teams battling it out to carry the honours away in their Qatar National League match yesterday.
The El Jaish looked tense in the first two quarters of the game which saw Al Khor bagging major honours after scoring 26-20 and 33-21. However, El Jaish put more efforts into the third quarter with former NBA Detroit Pistons centre Vernon Macklin making the most out of his attempts. The winners added 33 more points in the third quarter with El Jaish shooting only 13 points. The final quarter saw both teams in their best form but ultimately it was Al Khor who bagged the honours.  
The American added 34 points to his team’s tally and made 13 rebounds and two assists but the overall team effort of Al Khor kept El Jaish at bay.
For Al khor, Charles Abouo (25 points, 1 1rebounds and four assists), 16-year old Alen Hadzibegovic  (26 points, two rebounds and two assists) and Patrick Ronald Rembert (26 points, five rebounds and five assists) showed excellent skills. 
Sammy Monroe Junior II (21 points, five rebounds and 15 assists) and Yousuf Mohmmed (17 points, 13 revounds and four assists) also did a good job for the losers apart from Abouo. 
Davon James Dominic was one four players to reach the double figures as Al Rayyan hammered Qatar SC 97-58 in another Qatar National League match yesterday. 
Dominic scored 21 points and managed 9 assists to floor Qatar SC at Al Gharafa Indoor Hall. 
Elsayed Mohamed Abdelaziz (17), Ngombo Tanguy Alban (13) and Abdelhaleem Abdelrahman (10) also reached double figures in Al Rayyan’s big win. 
For Qatar SC, Jefferson Consteveous savoured a good individual performances with 21 points and 2 assists. 
White Malcolm Anthony (15) also waged a lone battle as Qatar SC failed to lift their performance in any of the four quarters. 
Abdalla Ahmed Mahmood (9) and Al Muftah Abdulrahman Ibrahim (7) were the other main scores for Qatar SC.
