Doha, Qatar: Acting General Manager of Qatar Chamber (QC) Ali Bu Sherbak Al Mansouri has met with a delegation from the Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) during its visit to QC.
The delegation included Director of the Family Empowerment Department Buthaina Al Obaidly, Head of the Empowerment Section Ghada Al Emadi, and Fatima Al Mohannadi, Social Services Programs Coordinator.
The talks centered on ways to reinforce cooperation between both sides, particularly in the area of training and development programs.
Al Mansouri stressed that QC is committed to supporting and empowering productive families and home-based entrepreneurs, stemming from its role in supporting the private sector, fostering a culture of entrepreneurship, encouraging initiatives that help diversify income sources, as well as unlocking new prospects for society members' meaningful engagement in economic activity.
Productive families are a crucial segment of entrepreneurs, with numerous home-based ventures pulling off success in advancing meritorious products and services that have been capable of competing, Al Mansouri underscored.
He suggested that what matters most is having a conducive environment in place to help these ventures grow and sustain themselves and eventually transition from the scope of home-based work into small and medium-sized ventures capable of expanding and reaching a significant segment of consumers.
Al Mansouri further highlighted that QC gives special attention to advancing the capabilities of home-based entrepreneurs.
He suggested that training and rehabilitation are the foremost pillars in this respect, particularly in the areas of managing projects, marketing, digital marketing, cost management, pricing, customer service, product quality improvement, and other skills that help entrepreneurs manage their businesses based on proper business practices.
In addition, Al Mansouri stressed the importance of combining efforts among various relevant entities to have an integrated system in place that helps entrepreneurs address challenges and turn their ideas and skills into successful and enduring ventures.
