Almobty guides Zypern to QNB Doha Tour victory

DOHA: Saudi Arabia’s Khaled Abdulrahman Almobty won the CSI4* event on the second day of the third and final leg of the QNB Doha Tour equestrian championship yesterday.
At the makeshift arena in Katara, Almobty riding his nine-year-old bay Zypern 4 emerged triumphant in the CSI4* Accumultor with joker, Art.269.5, 145cm event. The pair came home in 51.16 seconds for a prize money of QAR 37,500.
Saudi’s Abdelkarim Abbar finished second in Ziezo, while Abdullah Mohd al-Marri of UAE came third with Sama Dubai FBH.
In the CS2* Table (A) against the clock with jump off, Art. 238.2.2, 135cm, Sheikh Ali Abdulla al-Qassimi of UAE finished on top. Al-Qassimi paired with Saga De La Roque to time 35.34 seconds to come first and take home a pursue of QAR 13,750.
Kuwait’s Ghazi al-Jeraiwi (Prestigious) came second ahead of  Saudi’s Bader Mohammed Alfard  (Cover Girl G).
The highlight of the event so far has been performance from Spanish horseman Santi Serra and his magnificent horses. The show called Sercam has been wowing visitors.  Sercam shows involve ‘natural dressage’ and highlight the beauty of a horse’s movement and the harmony and balance between man and animal.
Today, the QNB Doha Tour series trophy will be awarded to the overall champion, who has won the most points over the three legs.The Peninsula
