AMU Alumni Qatar Toastmasters holds meeting to mark Republic Day of India

Doha: Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Qatar Toastmasters Club, conducted its virtual meeting on the occasion of the Republic Day of India.  The guests and members were welcomed by the Club presiding officer Jawed Ahmad, who opened the meeting with a famous quote of Babasaheb Ambedkar ‘Freedom of mind is the real freedom. A person whose mind is not free though he may not be in chains is a slave, not a free man’.

Ahmad Wished for Indian Republic Day and introduced the Toastmaster of the day, he welcomed the vibrant and dynamic General Evaluator Sabena M K to conduct the overall evaluation. Sabeena appreciated the club with certificate and enlightened how we can utilise our precious time effectively and usefully to maintain our health as well as growth. Toastmaster of the day Mohammad Shareef conducted the educational session of the evening. He revealed the meeting theme as ‘Importance of Republic Day’. Farman Khan also briefed on the theme.  Word master & Garamarian – Rovelyn Aglipay, introduced the word of the day ‘Good Samaritan’, and explained its usage while other roles played by: Timer & Listener - Deepak Talreja (Toastmaster Area 119  Director), Ah counter- Dr. Asma Naz. 

Speeches were evaluated by Abad Ahmad Khan, Shafqat Nabi, Manoj and Nayeem. The table topics session was deftly handled by Dr. Ashna Nusrat and concluded that it was a very pleasant and jubilant experience to celebrate Republic day on the virtual platform, she said indeed an enriching session. The Prepared speech and Table Topic session was participated by fellow toastmasters and guests. Prepared speech delivered by Syed Minhajuddin, Dr. Mosharraf Shamim, Mahejabeen Hussain and Dr. Nadeem Zafar Jilani .Club members congratulated Dr. Nadeem Zafar Jilani, the New Elect President  of AMU Alumni Association Qatar associate organisation of ICBF under aegis of Indian Embassy Qatar. 

“We strive to have a club environment that is positive and supporting where people can develop self-confidence and grow in both their communication and leadership skills,” said Dr. Nadeem Jilani. DTM Sabeena concluded her evaluation and announced the results of Best speakers as follows: Best Speaker Speech - Nadeem Zafar Jilani, Best Table Topic Speaker-Mohammad Nayeem and Best Evaluator-Manoj.
