DOHA: H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, Chairperson, Qatar Museums (QM) met Luo Shugang, Minister of Culture of the People’s Republic of China, and his delegation during their visit to Doha to attend the opening ceremony of Qatar China 2016 Year of Culture. Both sides discussed areas of cooperation and ways of further developing close relations between the two countries.
Following the meeting, the delegation toured Museum of Islamic Art.
The bilateral Years of Culture, held under the patronage of Sheikha Al Mayassa, is an annual initiative organised by QM to forge new partnerships and exchanges between Qatar and countries around the world through culture, arts, creativity, sport and business. Qatar China 2016 Year of Culture will celebrate close relations between the two countries through cultural partnerships between Qatari and Chinese organisations, institutions and individuals.
