Doha: Ministry of Municipality urged people not to dump old furniture outside the house. Ministry reminded people to call the special number for availing their special service for disposal of large items from homes.
People can apply for this service through the call center, dialing 184, or using the Aoun app, for the removal of items like trees, clothes, wood, home furniture, cardboard, household electrical appliances, etc.
A household can only place three requests in a year.
This service is available only for homes – both citizens and residents – and not valid for residential or commercial complexes or workers' housing.
Cleaning employees will not remove the things from inside homes, as it is the applicant’s responsibility to place it outside the house in coordination with the cleaning supervisor.
Ministry cautioned people that they should not dump the furniture outside the house before the time agreed upon so as to not spoil the look of the area.
“Throwing waste in public places is a violation of Public Hygiene Law No. 18 of 2017 and action will be taken against violators,” they added in a post on Twitter.
