Doha: Qatar Exchange index added 72.40 points, or 0.42 percent, to reach 10,325.72 points yesterday from the previous closing of 10,283.00 points on Thursday.
The volume of traded shares was up to 17,811,755 from Thursday’s 18,436,130 and the value of shares increased to QR627,257,570.22 from QR 545,943,939.31 on Thursday.
Among the top gainers were Doha Insurance whose share rose 1.19 percent to QR25.50, United Development Company added 1.23 percent to QR23.89, Industries Qatar gained 1.32 percent to QR169 and National Leasing increased by 0.65 percent to QR31.20.
The Banking and Financial sector index was down 0.04 percent while Consumer Goods and Services sector index lost 0.52 percent. The industrial sector added 1.15 percent while insurance sector rose 0.15 percent.
Jaguar Land Rover plans $500m plant
RIO DE JANEIRO: Jaguar Land Rover plans to build a $500m manufacturing plant in Brazil, the O Globo newspaper reported yesterday.
The daily wrote that the Rio de Janeiro factory will be the company’s second production facility outside Britain, in addition to one China. It also has an assembly plant in India.
