Doha: As part of efforts to strengthen postal cooperation and reinforce bilateral relations, Acting Director General of Qatar Post Hamad AlFahaida received Director General of the Syrian Post Emad Alden Hamad along with the accompanying delegation, during an official three-day visit.
This visit comes amid the Syrian Post’s ongoing efforts to modernize its services and enhance its operational capabilities, as part of its strategy to strengthen its role in the coming period and keep pace with the evolving landscape of the postal sector regionally and internationally.
The meetings included specialised discussions and presentations on several key areas of Qatar Post’s operations, including e-commerce, operational processes and shared challenges, postal security and its development mechanisms, financial services, and Qatar Post’s digital transformation journey.
The Syrian delegation also presented a comprehensive overview of the current state of the Syrian Post and explored opportunities for development in light of global postal sector transformations.
Commenting on the visit, Hamad AlFahaida said, “We value this visit as a reflection of the serious commitment to developing the postal sector and enhancing its capabilities — a direction we fully support. We believe that exchanging successful experiences and engaging with regional expertise is a key pillar in the journey of modernisation and service improvement.
Qatar Post remains open to cooperation with our fellow postal institutions in all that contributes to the advancement of the postal field,” he added, reaffirming Qatar Post’s commitment to supporting joint Arab postal efforts.
For his part, Emad Alden Hamad, expressed his appreciation to Qatar Post for the warm reception and excellent organization. He praised the advanced practices and innovative experiences he observed, which reflect the remarkable development of the postal sector in Qatar. He noted that the visit was a valuable opportunity to learn from Qatar Post’s successful experience in digital transformation and e-commerce, and expressed the Syrian Post’s interest in exploring opportunities for cooperation and knowledge exchange in areas of mutual interest.
This visit is part of a series of engagements Qatar Post holds with regional and international postal bodies, in line with its role as the national postal provider committed to building sustainable partnerships and advancing postal integration at both regional and global levels.
