Doha, Qatar: Representative of the Private Engineering Office, Abdulrahman Mohammed Al-Naama, inaugurated the Hamba Exhibition for Bangladeshi Mangoes and Products at Souq Waqif, in the presence of Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to the State of Qatar, HE Mohammad Nazrul Islam, along with several esteemed ambassadors and media representatives.

The exhibition is organized by the Celebrations Committee of the Private Engineering Office, in cooperation with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, and will run until July 1, 2025.

On its opening day, the event witnessed a large turnout from visitors who came to explore and taste a wide variety of premium Bangladeshi mangoes and mango-based products, offering a unique experience for lovers of the “king of fruits.”

The main exhibition tent, located in the eastern square of Souq Waqif, showcases a distinguished selection of renowned Bangladeshi mango varieties such as Amrapali, Langra, Katimon, Khirsapat, Fazli, Gopalbhog, Haribhanga, Lakshmanbhog, and more.

Khalid Saif Al-Suwaidi, the General Supervisor of the exhibition, confirmed that this event is being held for the first time in conjunction with the peak mango harvest season in Bangladesh, to enhance healthy competition among participating companies and offer high-quality products at accessible prices.

He noted that the exhibition was the result of collaborative planning between the Celebrations Committee and the Embassy of Bangladesh, providing a platform for both Bangladeshi and local companies to showcase their offerings in a distinguished commercial setting.

He added that the public is invited to discover Bangladeshi mangoes, considered among the finest in the world due to their unique flavor and superior quality.

Many of the varieties on display are being introduced to the local market for the first time, making the exhibition a rare opportunity to explore new tastes.

Al-Suwaidi also highlighted the participation of several companies specializing in mango seedlings, which are expected to attract the interest of local citizens and farmers keen on cultivating mangoes for production purposes.

He explained that the exhibition tent has been equipped with proper cooling systems to ensure product freshness and visitor comfort, especially since the mangoes are flown in daily from Bangladesh.

Holding the event at Souq Waqif — a prominent tourist destination in Qatar — is expected to significantly boost visitor numbers and raise the exhibition’s profile.

In conclusion, Al-Suwaidi encouraged the public to visit the exhibition early in the day to secure the best-quality fresh mangoes before they sell out, especially given the strong demand seen from day one. He emphasized that the exhibition offers a remarkable opportunity for tasting, purchasing, and exploring the distinct flavors of Bangladeshi mangoes.

The exhibition is open daily from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and during official holidays, opening hours are extended to 10:00 PM, giving more visitors the chance to enjoy this exceptional event and its diverse mango products.
