Doha: Doha Modern Indian School conducted its 17th Taleb Scholarship and Special Award giving ceremony virtually on Sunday, January 23, 2022.
Around 11 students were given the Taleb Scholarship for their academic excellence and consistency in their respective grades. The Chief guest for the virtual award ceremony was Sachin Dinkar, First Secretary, Culture and Education, Embassy of India.
The First Secretary addressed the virtual community and congratulated the winners and awardees for their accomplishments and urged youngsters to imbibe the solemnty of Indian Constitution and be the proud bearers of Indian culture and tradition.
Jayshanker Pillai, Director of Schools, also attended the event.
The ceremony honoured with special mention Hamdan Abdul Vahab of Gr.12 as the Best All Rounder of the Year 2020-21 and Vaishak Manoj Menon of Gr.12 as the winner of TALEB Award for the most Socially Empowered Youth of the Year 2020-21.
The welcome address was rendered by the Principal of DMIS, Padmini Venkatesh, the winners were announced by Academic Co-ordinator Elizabeth Dominic and the function was concluded with the vote of thanks by Assistant Principal Ursula Sabu.
