DOHA: Indian embassy said yesterday that there is no official confirmation from the Indian government until now about the expected visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Qatar.
“Honourable Prime Minister accords high importance to the historically friendly relations and multi-dimensional cooperation between India and Qatar, and deeply appreciates the most gracious invitation of H H the Emir and H E the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior,” said Indian ambassador Sanjiv Arora. “As per normal protocol and practice, salient information on the dates and other aspects of the Prime Minister’s visit would be announced by Government of India’s Official Spokesperson shortly before the visit,” he added.
