Doha: Minister of Labour, Employment, and Social Security of Nepal H E Krishna Kumar affirmed that Qatar was able to achieve a qualitative leap in terms of developing legislation, laws, and regulations related to the labour market, which was reflected in the improvement of the work environment in the country.
He pointed out to the development of Qatari legislation and laws to be in line with the leading labour laws in various countries of the world.
In statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Minister said that the priority of the Nepalese Labour Ministry in the current period is to increase the workforce in the domestic and hospitality services sector inside Qatar, noting that a training centre will be opened in Nepal to qualify domestic workers before they work in the Qatari market.
He noted the existence of an agreement to reopen the recruitment of Nepalese workers in the field of domestic workers, pointing out that there are intensive procedures with the Qatari Ministry of Labour to start the entry of Nepalese workers in the field of domestic workers.
He affirmed the Nepalese government’s interest in strengthening cooperation with Qatar in terms of increasing Nepalese labour, pointing out that many competencies in Nepal can be benefited from in the Qatari market in various sectors and fields of work.
He noted that there are training centres to qualify workers in Nepal before bringing them to the Qatari market, to increase efficiency, pointing out that there is continuous coordination with the concerned authorities in Qatar concerning facilitating procedures for the recruitment of Nepalese workers.
