Doha, Qatar: Qatar Creates (QC) will present The Manganiyar Selection performance by renowned Indian director Roysten Abel, as part of QC’s Fall/Winter 2025 season and ongoing Evolution Nation celebrations. The performance, in collaboration with the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art in New Delhi, India, will take place on October 27 at the Katara Amphitheater, bringing to Doha a spellbinding fusion of music, theatre, and visual artistry.

Described as a “symphony of sound and sight,” the Manganiyar Selection features the hauntingly beautiful music of Rajasthan’s Manganiyar community, performed within a dazzling stage of illuminated red cubicles that come alive with rhythm and light.

The show’s unique combination of traditional folk music and contemporary theatrical design has captivated audiences in over 25 countries, including performances at the Lincoln Center in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, and The Barbican in London. Now, audiences in Qatar have a rare opportunity to experience one of the world’s most celebrated and visually spectacular musical-theatre productions.

Conceived and curated by KNMA and visualised and designed by Visioni Srl, Rome, The Rooted Nomad: MF Husain, originally shown at the 2024 Venice Art Biennale, has been reimagined for Doha, introducing new spatial and sensory experiences that trace Husain’s artistic journey, shaped by memory, mythology, and a nomadic spirit. The exhibition will be on view at QM Gallery Katara from October 28, 2025, to February 7, 2026.

The Manganiyar Selection performance and The Rooted Nomad: MF Husain exhibition build on the legacy of the Qatar–India 2019 Year of Culture, and are presented as part of Evolution Nation, Qatar Museums’ 18-month campaign honouring 20 years of Qatar Museums and 50 years of the nation’s cultural journey, connecting heritage, creativity, and innovation.

Tickets priced at QR70, QR135 and QR200 are now available at Qatar Creates website.
