DOHA: Qatar coach Felix Sanchez yesterday announced a 27-member squad for the West Asian U23 Championship to be held in Doha.
The list includes the names of players who appeared at the 2015 U20 FIFA World Cup held in New Zealand in June this year.
The Doha tournament is an event that is expected to help the participating teams prepare for the AFC Asian U23 Tournament to be held in Doha next January.
The West Asian U23 Championship will be held from September 30 to October 10.
The final squad of 22 will be announced closer to the event, Sanchez said yesterday.
Qatar squad will start their training camp in Doha on September 25, the coach added.
Al Anabi take on Palestine on September 30 followed by a game against Jordan on October 3.
Qatar’s last group game will be against Yemen on October 6.
