DOHA: The Supreme Education Council (SEC) is planning to implement an electronic medical database of all students studying in Independent Schools that would regularly monitor their health status.
The programme which the Supreme Council of Education’s Information Technology department has been working will become part of the school administration system to establish an electronic health data for each student throughout their educational cycle.
SEC said the database will provide all important information on the health condition of the students which will serve as basis for their regular medical check up and the dates and places of their treatment.
Implementation of the electronic health programme will help other departments of the SEC and other government bodies to get information of each student for other significant purposes.
Officials said the programme comes within the strategic SEC thrust in introducing electronic information system and digital educational information.
“This will improve decision-making for quality education in different levels,” an official said.
