Doha: The Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions (ANNHRI) has announced that it will hold its conference and 19th General Assembly around integrating human rights into public policies at the International Conference Center in the Mauritanian capital Nouakchott on July 27 and 28.
In this context, Chairperson of the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions (ANNHRI) H E Maryam bint Abdullah Al Attiyah said in a statement that the conference will review human rights principles within their international informative framework; and will highlight the approaches and tools to activate these principles in the planning, tracking and evaluation of public policies; their impact and effectiveness on the ground in terms of human rights; and highlight their role in establishing effective policies capable of continuity in the long term.
In addition, it will also discuss the role of civil society organisations and national human rights institutions in monitoring and following up their implementation, in order to ensure a better integration of human rights approach into public policies.
