HMC organises Home Care Day exhibition

DOHA: Hamad Medical Corporation’s Home Healthcare Services (HHCS) held a Home Care Day exhibition under the theme ‘Your health is our primary concern’ to highlight the importance of home healthcare in the community and celebrate works of the multidisciplinary teams comprising HHCS.
About 1,104 patients are being cared for under the HHCS, which are provided based on the individual needs of each patient and family. Each patient receives scheduled visits to their home by the healthcare team, which also works with family members to educate them on proper care of their at-home patients. 
The HHCS provides holistic and specialised support to patients discharged from hospital but require follow-up care and rehabilitation. It is part of HMC’s Continuing Care Group that has received Joint Commission International’s accreditation, which recognises HHCS’ commitment to quality.
Held at Bayt Al Dhiyafah in Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City, the exhibition showcased specialised services provided by the teams, including patient educators, speech, respiratory, physical and occupational therapists, sub-speciality wound care nurses,  dietitians, clinical pharmacists, social workers, private nursing services, medical equipment team, nurses, laboratory, home healthcare physicians, HMC’s Mobile Doctor Service, referral management and the quality management team.
“We at HHCS are committed to ensuring each patient receives the highest standards of care. We are holding this event to create awareness about the service and celebrate works of the multidisciplinary teams responsible for our daily success,” said Khalid Al Qahtani, Assistant CEO, HHCS.
“We believe that successful outcomes depend on working together. Each of our multidisciplinary teams plays an integral role in providing our patients with the safest, most effective and compassionate care,” according to the event’s organising team, which included Antonia Limpiada, Assistant Executive Director of Nursing, HHCS; and Maryam Al Tamimi, Fatma Al Haddad, Asmaa Mahfouz, Aisha Hammam and Amal Nasser Al Saif,  all directors of nursing, HHCS.
