DOHA: The British Council has launched prestigious awards celebrating the outstanding achievements of the UK’s international alumni in Qatar and around the world.
The Study UK Alumni Awards celebrate and showcase the impact and value of a UK higher education and raise the international profile of UK alumni, their former universities, and the whole of UK education, said a statement.
Award winners and finalists are leaders in their fields who have used their experience of studying at a UK university to make a positive contribution to their communities, industries and countries.
For the first time in Qatar, the awards will be celebrated at a national level to celebrate the achievements of alumni in Qatar. National awards winners will then be put forward for the global awards.
UK university alumni can apply themselves or be nominated by someone else. Nominations for the Qatar national awards close on October 1 and applications close on October 15, 2018.
Finalists and winners of the awards will be announced on December 1, 2018 during the annual Qatar-UK Alumni Networking Gala Dinner, as part of the Qatar British Festival 2018.
